Welcome!

I’m so happy you are here! If you have found your way to me, you are definitely in the right place!

Want to get to know me better? Hear more about my history, approach and mission?

My mission is simple….

Preserve the traditions that continue to honor the horse.

Help horses live happier, healthier lives by guiding, instructing, and supporting their humans.

Ways we can work together….

Lets Chat….

There is a variety of ways that people find themselves wrapped in conversations with me about their personal horse journey. We begin sifting through loads of bad information, shame, fear and the stacking of physical and/or emotional trauma layered in over time. We often think we are alone in our own experience; we never are. Hopelessness may be common, but it shouldn’t be normal.

I’m here to help! At least half of what your hearing, reading, telling yourself is bullshit. Let’s sort it out, one piece at a time and move forward together. You and your horse deserve to be happy.

  • Heather is truly invested in Harley’s path to improved health. Her intuition and feel are unmatched. She exudes confidence and humility. Harley continues to be a work in progress , having Heather as one of our guiding lights has made a big difference. And for that, I am extremely grateful .

  • The first visit changed my heart and gave me hope for Carl’s future. Heather used her magic to see Carl exactly where he was at and methodically helped him into a new reality; emotionally and in his body. I could see Carl accepting his work with more appreciation as it felt good and relieved the pain. The work Heather was doing was gentle and immediately effective. It held between visits and he progressed so quickly to a happier horse. Soon, he was no longer teeth grinding, the nerve pain sweat had stopped and he moved like a horse that felt good emotionally and in his body.

  • Heather knows and understands horses from a social, emotional, and physical standpoint. She sees in their bodies in fine detail the areas which need strengthening and the areas that need to be softened and let loose. As a Balance Through Movement Method instructor, Heather utilizes the Lazaris nerve technique in combination with others to rehabilitate horses bodies and nervous systems. She is also incredibly knowledgeable about equine feet and has the expertise and experience to assess the hoof and to implement a plan for developing hoof health as a means to overall soundness and wellness.

  • "Words can’t fully describe the impact this woman has made on my life, both in and out of the saddle. I am incredibly grateful for her guidance and couldn’t recommend her enough."

    ~Kendal Pettit

  • Fun – Heather makes learning fun. She supports enough to build confidence, teaches each individual at their level, and helped both my horses and myself find that play drive again. I wholeheartedly recommend joining one of her clinics and you will learn a lot, laugh, meet some great people, and have fun with your horse!!!

She’s a Vaquero Podcast

Woman wearing a large hat and plaid shirt reading a book in a room with horse bridles hanging on a wall.

This is where the vast yet subtle wisdom of the cowboy and ranching traditions meets the complex, rapidly evolving modern horse industry. Each episode dives into the historical principles of the masters while openly discussing how current trends, technology, and commercial pressures have reshaped training, tack, and horse care. By examining this evolution, we provide listeners with the critical context needed to remain true to classical horsemanship in any era. Tune in as we hear from a range of horsemen and horsewomen as we sort through the pieces and help the listeners let go of practices that no longer serve them or their horse.

We will take on some popularized “horse science” and theories. Many I actually think are garbage! However, having open dialog about these ideas should be beneficial and educational to all involved. On behalf of the horse, I will throw the “horse shit” flag at some these concepts. Looking at how horses are responding should be our metric for success.
